* Opening in 2010: The new Tram Haus Lodge at Jay Peak Resort will open in 2010 bringing to Jay Peak a new state of elegance
Trip Description:
In January 2010, Jay Peak Resort opens their new Tram Haus Lodge. We will be among the first clubs to enjoy this new state of the art facility including all amenities one would hope for. Within a year they will tear down the original Hotel Jay which has served skiers for over 50 years.
This trip is all inclusive beginning in Philadelphia 30th Street Station for a relaxed train trip to northern Vermont and shuttle to Jay Peak. Onboard the train, enjoy conversation, reading, games we will organize and snacks we will provide. Canadian country breakfast and gourmet dinner off the menu at the Tram Haus Lodge restaurant are included. This trip includes five (5) mid-week days of skiing along with ski lessons each day for the downhill skier. Cross-country skiers will enjoy the new Jay Peak Nordic Center as well as optional side trips to nearby Hazen’s Notch Cross Country Center and Craftsbury Nordic Center. Evening entertainment is also provided each night.
Jay Peak, with ski-in/ski-off access to the mountain, has varied terrain but is best known for its glade skiing (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8_IrLJ34yzk&NR=1). And tree skiing can be as easy or challenging as you want it to be. Daily lessons can help you reach to a new level of skiing, solidify your gains for the year or introduce you to something new, e.g. glades or racing.
Jay Peak Resort has offered a number of options to break up the week for those who don’t want to ski, or just want to take a break. Side trips to Stowe, the Bogner outlet, and an historic tour and dinner in Montreal are optional activities.
This trip is Main Line Ski Club’s first trip to Jay Peak and, coupled with the introduction of Tram Haus Lodge, continues the tradition of great skiing and comfort at a great value. Note that the trip is limited to 40 and prices cannot be guaranteed once we reach that limit or after December 1st.
